TARAWEEH PRAYER 8 OR 20 RAK'AHS?

Monday, 12 December 2011 20:53

Written by Admin

(a) Aisha (Allah be pleased with her) reports that the Prophet (Peace be upon him) never prayed more than 8rak'aats in taraweeh, so how come nobody disapproves of 20?(b) Is it true that Umar (Allah be pleased with him) introduced it?

Ans.

(a) As regards the taraweeh prayer - people agree that the Sunnah of the Prophet (Peace be upon him) and the best way is 11 rak'aats. As regards any addition - then this is DISAPPROVED of and DECLARED AS A BID'AH (A bad innovation) by Shaykh al-Albani and by a few earlier scholars - that being reported from Imam Malik, Ibn ul-Arabee and as-San'aanee (see Salat-ut-taraweeh of Shaykh al-Albani).

(b) It is not true that Umar (Allah be pleased with him) either prayed or ordered 20 rak'aats. Rather he ordered Ubayy ibn Ka'b to lead the people with 11 rak'aats (al-Muwatta 1/137, with a Sahih Isnad).

I do not wish to go into much detail on this issue, but Insha'Allah a separate publication is what is really required, to show which opinion is the most correct. But any way it should be said that the vast MAJORITY of the scholars of hadith, Fiqh, and even the four Mujtahid Imams are in agreement that 20 rak'ahs are the most appropriate, followed by 3 rak'ahs of witr, and this is also the opinion of the Imam of the "Salafiyya", Ahmad ibn Taymiyya!

Hvordan få Ramadan Mubarik?

Monday, 12 December 2011 20:53

Written by Admin

Monday, 12 December 2011 20:53

Written by Admin

It shall be known from the following narrations mentioned by the author on what type of bed did Sayyidina Rasulullah Sallallahu 'Alayhi Wasallam rest upon. We who are from among his ummah know the state of our carpets and other furnishings, which is before our eyes. The author mentioned two hadith in this chapter.

(311) Hadith Number 1:
'Aayeshah Radiyallahu 'Anha reports that the bed on which Rasulullah Sallallahu 'Alayhi Wasallam slept was made of leather, in which was filled coir of the palm tree.

Control Of Anger

“And those who suppress their anger and are forgiving to people and Allah loves the doers of good.”

Allah Ta’ãla has explained three qualities of His special servants in this verse;

1. They swallow their pride,

2. They forgive the mistakes of Our servants,

3. They not only forgive others who harm them, but also do acts of kindness for them. Allah loves such people.

Together with this Allah Ta’ãla has provided the prescription for curing the deadly disease of anger in the above verse Allah Ta’ãla states; “Wal Kãzimeenal Ghayza”, “Those who suppress their anger.”

Which means those who contain, who suppress their anger. Anger per se, is not evil but the incorrect usage thereof is.
